The Executive Director of Oakland School for the Arts formally commended me for my work developing a project-based learning assignment for 7th grade social science. In addition to the letter here, this project was awarded the Outstanding Arts/Academic Integration award for the 2013-14 school year. The museum installation was also visited by members of the California Arts Council including architect Frank Gehry, Malissa Feruzzi Shriver, and CA Governor Jerry Brown.

I was awarded a grant by the Better Homes and Gardens Mason-McDuffie Education Foundation in appreciation for my exceptional contribution to my students. “The Education Foundation began in 1992 with a vision to honor teachers for their tireless work on behalf of our children, our schools and our communities." Selections for the awards were based on nominations from parents, students, and other community members.
