Wendy Snyder
College Admissions Counselor
Kris Bradburn taught both my children and I also worked in conjunction with her as an academic counselor for over a decade. Kris is one of the most creative and passionate educators and instructional designers that I've ever known. She is relentless in her ability to innovate and transform lessons to reach students, teachers and clients. She’s also a fearless advocate for justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
At Oakland School for the Arts, she brought her artistic background in theater and theatrical production to her classrooms and created an experience for the students. She pays attention to the macro and micro levels of instructional design and learning. Outside of her enormous teaching workload, she took on leadership and mentoring roles within and beyond her department. During remote learning, she was a key player on the team to adapt the classrooms to zoom and she also took the lead in helping teachers transition back to in-person school. Kris was a key leader in the creation and establishment of our teachers’ union bringing better pay and working conditions to our school.
Kris is a team player who is generous in her desire to work hard for the common good and to teach others by inspiring them to want to learn.
